You Shall Not Want

The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want. Psalm 23:1

To the lost sheep, He is the seeking Shepherd;
To the needy sheep, He is the providing Shepherd;
To the hurting sheep, He is the comforting Shepherd;
To the bruised sheep, He is the healing Shepherd;
To the anxious sheep, He is the peaceful Shepherd;
To the wandering sheep, He is the guiding Shepherd;
To the fearful sheep, He is the protecting Shepherd;
To the lame sheep, He is the carrying Shepherd;
To the discontented sheep, He is the fulfilling Shepherd;
To the parched sheep, He is the anointing Shepherd;
To the timid sheep, He is the reassuring Shepherd;
To the fallen sheep, He is the merciful Shepherd;
To the nervous sheep, He is the quieting Shepherd;
To the heavy laden sheep, He is the restful Shepherd;
To the lonely sheep, He is the ever-present Shepherd;
To the weary sheep, He is the restoring Shepherd;
To all His sheep, He is the Good Shepherd.

    The Lord is not only our Shepard but as we know His Voice we respond to it in Obedience and Love, He prepares the way before we are prepared to go!
    This preparation is always a guided walk which is a Blessing and Joy to see and know that He is there, never to leave or forsake, making all things possible.

    Today’s “You shall not want” really ministered to me. I am at home for 6 weeks due to cancer surgery my face. I went from a very busy life style to seeing going nowhere, no cooking, no housework, no bending. The Lord knows al about it. I am challenged, but not alone. God is truly my healer, provider, comforter, restorer, guide, ever-present, reassuring Good Shepherd. Thank you for your wonderful words. God used them to encourage me to see all He is to me today.

    We just finished studying the 23rd Psalm in the Prayer Ministry at my church. How awesome when we allow Him to be our Shepherd we want for nothing, we fear nothing and we live a life of joy, peace and prosperity, hallelujah!

    YOU SHALL NOT WANT REMINDS reminds me of a visionary prayer the Lord gave to me many years ago.
    Lamb’s Prayer
    Close your eyes. Place yourself
    in a lovely meadow . Sheep are grazing.
    The Shepherd is cuddling a frightened
    lamb.Look close and you will see that
    lamb is you ! The Shepherd is Jesus!
    He is holding you during this time
    in your life. He holds you so close
    so you can feel the beat of His heart-
    His love for you. He wants you to know
    you are not alone. He too feels your
    pain . He won’t let you go.
    Just cling to Him and you will discover
    He will be with you each step
    of the way.
    Rest in His Love, my friend.
    We just moved to ME from MN a month ago. In searching for our new home online Ps.23:1-3 has been my guide that we may have a home that provides those who enter with peace and rest. God has answered re: Eph 3:20

    In all walks of life, so many troubling times I have faced, but never a day of trouble will pass by without finding something that spoke to me, to my griefs, a help from the One whose mercy and grace are sufficient for all things.
    Thank you today for being my God’s Blessing with your “You Shall Not Want” message. It is so much of what I needed. God does work through His people when he finds a saddened soul who needs just a little reminder of He is still on the Throne of the Most High and a comfort in need.
    Thank You

  44. The Shepherd's Daughter March 14, 2011 at 3:25 PM #

    Thank you for posting this.
    I love The Shepherd. I am His child, His lamb, His daughter, and know His love.
    I have suffered a lot of pain from a situation with a prodigal child. The pain is so unbearable at times. My heart breaks. I feel so unloved , so rejected. Yet God knows it all.
    He is my Shepherd and He is quieting my nervous heart, healing my wounds, and He will restore the stray lamb and restore our relationship someday.

    Beautiful analogies…are there any meadows left?
    They use to be referred to as leas I believe…thank God for God and for your giftings that you so generously share with those of us who are His Sheep by faith and for everyone else who have yet to enter the fold through Jesus.
    May God continue to bless you in ways that only He can. In His love and mine,
    Martha

    As a second time breast cancer survivor, this is beautiful. I go to a large rock that sits in a big meadow on a seasonal road ,,,,this is where I am closest to God and feel his presence. I can cry, yell, talk to God, pray and find peace. I come back
    with more hope. Spring is almost here in the northeast and I hope I can again get there soon, but I went there with the help of this author. Thank you.

    Hello, I was finishing up my on line banking and flipped back to my email for a quick look before retireing for the night(1:20 am) I saw the dayspring”Meet Me In The Meadow” and was
    immedately drawn to it because of a dream I had a few months ago.
    In this dream i was standing behind a small group of sheep. they were waiting at a gate as if waiting to be feed or let out into the adjoining pasture. As I stood there, a voice said” the sheep are ready, the house is down.”I looked to the left and the lean two that seemed to have been the place were the sheep got out of the weather, was completely flatten, with the roof on the ground among the rubble of the broken sides. Next, the first sheep turned his head and looked at me as if he were waitng for me to open the gate for the herd. then I woke up. I immedately asked God what that dream was all about. Your “Meeting in the Meadow ” broke my dream. thank you I was suppose to read this, I never stay up this late usually. thank you.I share it with many friends.

    We have sheep and learn may valuable spiritual lessons from them. The most important one is this: The sheep have no idea all that the Shepherd does for them. They also have no idea how much we love them. We are very blessed by our little flock.

    I have written quite a bit about(my) Shepherd,sheep, etc., the last several years.
    Recently, I read 2Sam.12. No scripture had ever gripped me like this passage;the first 4 verses. The Holy Spirit brought it home to me. My daughter, in 2009, gave me a beautiful calendar, with every month depicting Ps.23.I looked at it again recently and was inspired to put it up all over my wall. I also put several of my writings, pictures, etc on the walls. A friend was over yesterday, who is also a writer, and she shared with me that her pen name is “Beside still waters.”
    She said that she is going to bring me a picture Sunday,that she put on cloth, about Ps.23. My deep desire is that many in the church will “know” Him, Jesus, more intimately. He is being revealed to me and there are no words. He is our personal Savior.
    I put off writing to you for several days, but I had to share with you today. My cup is running over,
    Audrey Hill
