Think About…Him, Part 3 of 3

 Mountains.sxc.3.3

“Whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report… if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Philippians 4:8 (KJV)

Things that are lovely:

God’s ways…think about all He has done.

God’s holiness…think about His beauty.

God’s countenance…think about His smile upon you.

God’s heart…think about His boundless love.

God’s glory…think about His greatness.

Things that are of good report:

God’s creation…think about the beauty that surrounds you.

God’s redemption…think about what Jesus did for you.

God’s promises…think about all that is yours because you are His.

God’s kingdom…think about His reign and rule.

God’s covenants…think of all the blessings of His grace.

I want to thank God for His wondering work. My friend is out of the house he lived for over 20 years and I was able to help him. I praised God at the end of the day. He is faithful!

When I think about each of these things, it is very humbling, and brings my petty attitudes and sins into perspective. I am so small….and He is Almighty. When I read the Word of God, it’s the only place I want to be…I want to DWELL there. I strive to live to honor Him. Thankyou, Lord God, for who You ARE, and for saving me, forgiving me, and for loving me.

These 3 devotionals “Think About — Him” have centered on verses that I have tried to use to keep my mind uncluttered from all the junk on the news ( I can’t just NOT watch — my husband wants to). It is a daily struggle to live above the world. But I appreciate your reminder to me that it is essential in my walk with the LORD. Thank you. Also, I have been reading your story “Sons From Afar”. It has been very interesting. I am interested in historical things and you have done a great job of how the Lord used those events of the times to bring you and your family to faith in Christ Jesus our Lord. Thank you for sharing that story. My husband will read it too.

It amazes me how faithful God really is…how He proves Himself time and time again…without fail, and just in the right time it seems…
Isn’t answered prayer always the right time? Thinking on what is good, lovely, honorable and just, sounds good until I applied it…and I find
that I must apply it even more today. Let me say it quite simple….
“ANY OTHER THINKING IS A WAY THE ENEMY GETS INTO OUR THOUGHTS WITH FEAR,
DOUBT, NEGATIVITY, HOPELESSNESS, AND ROBS AND STEALS OUR LOVE AND JOY FROM GOD’S NEVER ENDING PROVISION. Do we think God’s words are meaningless, or do they carry merit in their unsurpassing POWER against all darkness, and its evil intent. John 10:10 is spoken to be lived.
Let’s stop playing with Religious ploys, and walk in the power and deliverance of His strength and reliance. We are no match for the enemy but,Jesus is. Praise Him in all. And Believe Him for all. Amen.
