Traveling The Highway to Heaven

TheRoad.MMITM.72013.mjp

One of the ways you can think about your journey from earth to heaven is to imagine it as a road trip you are taking in a car. Here are a few things to remember as you travel along the highway…

1.      Obey the signs.

2.      Keep the tank full.

3.      Clean the windows.

4.      It’s okay to give someone a lift.

5.      Take advantage of all the rest stops.

6.      Check the cell phone for updated messages.

7.      Know how to get ahold of roadside assistance.

8.      Welcome the miles you spend with a passenger.

9.      Don’t be surprised if the road makes an unexpected turn.

10.    Always remember the purpose of the trip and your final destination.

1. Psalm 119:10,  2. Ephesians 5:18,  3. 1 John 1:9, 4. Hebrews 10:24-25, 5. Mark 6:31, 6. Isaiah 30:21, 7. Psalm 91:15, 8. Romans 12:10, 9. Acts 10:13-20, 10. Philippians 3:14

This really is so good and very encouraging. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on life in general as a believer. It makes for good learning for me. Something from a different point of view.

Thanks for sharing this, Roy. Last night as I was walking, I was thinking of our life as a journey with a destination. It’s good to know where we are headed, and that our travels have a purpose and destination even with detours and stops. God is faithful to lead us on the paths He has for us. Thanks, brother.

This was such a creative way of demonstrating our path to heaven and it is so relative to what we do everyday. I loved envisioning the meaning behind each directive. The Holy Spirit has inspired you again Roy, and I’m so grateful for the insight you share every day. I look forward to every devotional. It helps me keep my “tank full!”
