Learning to live by faith

Bible faith is not in faith itself but in the object that faith grasps. It is Jesus!

Choose to serve God, even though He may not always meet your immediate expectations nor always meet your timetable.

Trust God, even if you have a clear understanding of 90% of what He is doing, but don’t understand the 10%.

Never throw away that which God has revealed to you.

We don’t need to know all the answers to serve Him.

I am convinced the answers will someday be made clear.

—Don Leetch

God’s way is perfect. All the Lord’s promises prove true. He is a shield for all who look to him for protection. Psalm 18:30 NLT

On February 19th of this year, Don Leetch, one of the founders of DaySpring Cards, finished his earthly race, crossed the finish line, and is now present with the Lord.

Don was a man of faith and a man of God who lived well and finished well. Don never had a blog or wrote a book, yet his life was a living epistle for good. He was a flame for Jesus’ glory that brightened the lives of those who knew him.

I knew Don for over 45 years. He was my co-worker, pastor, mentor, and dear friend. In honor of Don’s life and witness, the next three postings in Meet Me in the Meadow are written by him. They are taken from his personal journals and memos. It is my prayer that each posting will help you see deeper into the heart of a man who lived under the banner of knowing and believing that “God is so good!”

I do not sometimes understand the way God uses me but this I know He will always lead me to where He wants me to be. I just have to have faith and follow where He may send me.

Indeed at times God does not act according to our expectations or even meet our timetables but this does not make him less good, less faithful and less loving to us. I pray that I just trust him no matter what because in his goodness and love he knows and does what is best for me.
Thank you so much Roy for sharing your friend’s personal convictions which are so enlightening! May God comfort you as you mourn him!

One of the hardest lessons as a Christian is learning to “Wait on the Lord” (to lean on his own understanding and wisdom). It is not an easy thing to do as humans. We are used to having immediate gratification with an equally immediate answer to any problem that we may be dealing with at the time. But, if we can just learn to trust not on own understanding but that of the Holy Father then Holy Spirit we come into our lives during these times of “Waiting on the Lord” and change us, we will in essence become more “Christ like”. As It says in Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. During these hard times in our lives we need to rely on the Word of God. His Word is filled with promises for those that seek him and Believe! We are told over and over again in the Bible that the Lord will not forsake us, nor abandoned us. We are told to not rely on our strength, but the strength of the Lord for he loves us and will provide for us. Oh, What a Mighty God we serve!

What a blessing to know that on earth God has vessels like pastor Don Leetch! The case of the kingdom had a star that now brightens the blossom of Abraham.
Thanks pastor Roy for bringing to me the words of a such hero in faith. I pray for comfort of theLord to the Leetch and Day Spring families.

It’s so reassuring to know that God is good, ALL THE TIME.
My prayer is for more faith to wait on Him for His own time of doing what HE has promised to do.
Roy’s testimony on Don is very uplifting and encouraging; thank you, Roy.

Why should we trust God when some circumstances appear illogical, irrational and just outright wrong? I have got at least one great reason! Think about what God has done! All of us deserved condemnation, damnation and doom in hell and then judgement in the lake of fire. Eternal punishment for the heinous crimes we committed against Him. But God the Father was so in love with humanity and wanted no-one to be eternally lost from His loving presence, that He sent Jesus to take upon Himself all of things we self corrupted ourselves with and take upon Himself the condemnation, damnation and doom we deserved and freely give us lives that could be lived with a restored freedom that only God could give! But it gets even better. We also are promised (Revelation 21 and 22) a place in the Heavenly City, the New Jerusalem where we will have everything that was lost in the garden restored and living in incorruptible and perfect bodies, minds, emotions and spirits. Living forever in increasing heavenly aliveness! There is no quality of love like that! Only God could reveal this kind of love! So it is only natural, or should I say supernatural to trust Him with the rest. How great is the love of our God!
