I don’t normally find myself sitting down to read a children’s book, but a few weeks ago I spent several days reading The Wise Woman by George MacDonald. It tells a powerful tale about the condition of the human heart as seen through two young girls.

Here is another little "gem" to add to your reading list. It’s called Nevertheless, by Mark Rutland.

George MacDonald left us with this great quote:

"Man finds it hard to get what he wants, because he does not want the best. God finds it hard to give, because He would give the best and man will not take it."

Here are two classics that are worth the read. They are still in print and can be purchased at a low price. Each book is filled with gems of the Spirit that have been formed in the authors’ lives as they walked with Jesus and gained rich insights into the heart of God.
